Hola a todos!
Vivo en Aracaju/SE y hace un mes, me encontré con un argentino en la calle que estaba en su auto (VW Fox). Lo saludé, y me contó que se había venido a vivir a esta misma ciudad hace 1 año y que se trajo su auto con patente argentina para acá y que no tuvo ningún obstáculo. De hecho ya lo han parado en la ruta agentes de la Policia Rodoviária y que no le han puesto ningún problema, tan sólo revisan si la documentación del auto y la de él están al día, así como su seguro.

Por eso me surge la siguiente duda, pues según entiendo, no es posible traer y mantener un auto aquí sin pagar impuestos absurdamente caros. Mi pregunta entonces es: ¿será posible traerse un auto usado desde Chile y mantenerlo con su patente chilena sin que tenga que regresar a los 3, 6, 12 meses... que sé yo?

No es posible quedarse con un vehículo extranjero en Brasil de manera permanente, a no ser que sea vehículo nuevo o con más de 30 años. En el caso de la importación a Brasil de vehículos nuevos, los gastos son elevadísimos sobrepasando incluso en 50% del valor de vehículo.

Sólo podrás introducir un vehiculo en Brasil para hacer turismo. Una vez obtenida la residencia tendrás que regresarlo a su país. Si te quedas con el en Brasil te expones a ser multado y también a que te confisquen el vehículo.
